What is Summer Solstice?
The summer solstice, also known as midsummer, occurs when one of the Earth's poles has its maximum tilt toward the Sun. It happens twice yearly, once in each hemisphere. For that hemisphere, the summer solstice is when the Sun reaches its highest position in the sky and is the day with the longest period of daylight.
International Yoga Day and the Summer Solstice (aka the first official day of summer) both coincide prompting sun saluting celebrations. And because the Summer Solstice marks the longest day of the year, we’ll have extra daylight to celebrate properly so I thought let's have a yoga party!!
Outside, to enjoy mother natures delights! Along with music, delicious treats and of course plenty of yoga!
